Every parent hopes for a better life for their kids than their own. But for Joel Bond, whose childhood was filled with memories of ice skating, swimming and playing lacrosse and hockey with the
neighbourhood kids, growing up on Lake Bona venture in Calgary’s southeast is a history he is happy to repeat.

“I did not have it rough and I don’t think you could ask for better,” says Joel. “My childhood was a dream. There was always so much to do in the winter and summer and it was a tight-knit community.”

With his wife, Kristy, and their two children, Joel is l iving in a flashback, returning to his old stomping grounds of Lake Bonaventure to live in the very home where he grew up.
